Nope, this is not about the known flash cookies (LSO's), this one is a real bad smelling pile of ....Read all about it at:http://www.informationweek.com/blog/main/a...ookies_you.htmlandhttp://www.h-online.com/security/news/item...ie-1095232.htmlI've got to puke :hysterical: However... one vote for the p.rn mode. That defeats it, at least until that 'inventor' comes up with another trick.

Chrome, calls it 'Incognito', IE calls it 'InPrivate', Firefox calls it 'Start private Browsing'.The p.rn mode is the alternate name used with tongue in cheek. Replace the dot in p.rn mode with the last character of the word 'Incognito' and you know what I mean. However, this 'hide your traces' mode is not a holy way of getting there. It still leaves behind traces according to an article at ComputerWorld:http://www.computerworld.com/s/article/918...hers?source=toc

I wonder if this new tech will defeat Sandboxie.I run all my browser's and internet facing apps in a Sandboxie sandbox.Closing the app clears the sandbox.Anything downloaded by the browser goes when the contents of the sandbox is cleared.

Would be interesting to see how it does in sandboxie...however because it stores the data in so many random places my guess is some of that would survive...From another Forum i volunteer at here is a recent guide to dealing with flash cookies...Here Ya goKudos to Evilfantasy...

Patio,I think Striker mentioned that this is not the same as flash cookies. See the original post.BTW, I was somewhat surprised to see that computer hope has their own forum. When did they start that one up? Edited by Tushman

I dunno Patio, from what I understand about Sandboxie and how it works I don't think anything could get outunless the user let it out.For convenience I allow downloads to my desktop, a recovery feature of Sandboxie. If I didn't allow Sandboxie to recover my downloads they would be gone when the sandbox was emptied.I guess I'll mosey over to the Sandboxie forum and see if anyone there has an answer.

That's correct, we're talking about a different thing here. Way more evil.

I was aware the article is not regarding flash cookies....just thought the removal info was relevant and could help as the FAQ it links to is recenct...Computer Hope Forum was originally formed in 1998...i've been a Member since 2004 i believe.
