Can I remove it?And what is all the doodoo installed with Netscape in the components folder and other junk? Do I need all that stuff?? There are two types of binaries.. one that is the check build and another one is pure binary without debugging...You need to get one that's without debugging.As to my knowledge, you can't turn the feature off because it is built-in..and compiled along with the rest of the codes. It does not have an install exe, so I cannot change the path that is attributed to the files in the archive. The parent folders are all indicated as 'MozillaFirebird', but all mine are installed as 'Firebird' on my F:\ partition, so I cannot simply extract to same location since it does not exist as such.How do I install these files? Alos, if I install the corresponding files to the corresponding locations I have in the child folders under 'Firebird', won't they simply overwrite all the files existing and thus lose all my settings and data??Please advise. Now I have a real tough time decideing between Moz 1.4 and Firebird. Both are keepers at this point. I especially like the Noia-warm theme, small taskbar and lots of window. The folder shows the 5 DLLs, yet F-bird does not show them in the 'Extensions' list under 'Options' It will not let me drag the tabs to the bottom of the page and there are no settings for such. Why was this feature removed? How is this accomplished? I used to be able to double-click the tabs to kill it. There are no settings for such. Was this feature removed, too? I used to be able to click links to have them open in new tabs. Again, there are no settings for such There is a serious glitch in the 'View' > 'Toolbars' > 'Customize' area. In addition to the regular single icons, the window from which to drag icons to the toolbar has 3 sets of 37-icon set blocks that all drag together as one unit which are 3 duplicate rows of all the browser icons plus 4 inactive icons Java installed (Sun j2re-1.4.1.03 since 1.4.2 broken still) but does not work Double tabs still open when using 'Open in tabs' for bookmarks Sorry if I seem frustrated, but I sure liked everything the way it was before - nothing seems different at all except now I have less features, the very reason I moved to the 'bird - why did I trade up to this version? You probably need to re download any of the Extensions you had earlier (namely Tabbrowser Extensions)...If you have it installed into your profile, it will stay everytime you upgrade versions... (for TBE tell it not to install for all users)... Your settings will come back as they were once you reinstall it (it keeps the data in your profile)...I'm not sure why your java isn't working, might want to reinstall it? Reinstalling TBE should take care of your problems.... the Open in Tabs has yet to be fixed for some reason (it annoys me too), but everything else will come back the way it was...Just so you know, there have been nearly 70,000 lines of code changed from 0.6 to 0.6.1 so there is a worthy reason to upgrade... I reinstalled all the extensions and nearly everything came back the way it was. What do you mean exactly by 'If you have it installed into your profile'? I thought I did (?) and thus they should've stayed when I upgraded?Reinstalled Java. Said it was already installed, so uninstalled and reinstalled and now it works. Prelude76 Posted August 25, 2003 Share Posted August 25, 2003 zlim,Firebird and Thunderbird run in both windows and linux, though require seperate install files obviously. but they can actually share same email data / bookmarks, which is perfect for dual or triple booters like myself.as for extensions, you dont really need them, unless theres a particular tweak you want to apply (like mouse gestures, more tab controls, etc...)i dont have any extensions and it runs just fine. IMHO, it would be better to leave it on though now that you realize it's not crashing the browser. It sends crash debug info to the developers so they can spot bugs in their code and fix them.
