Corrine
This is a question a lot of people have been wanting an answer to and now we have it. The answer was provided by Microsoft employee and Forum Moderator at Can I reinstall Windows 10 once I upgrade?: Yes. Once you upgrade to Windows 10 successfully using the free upgrade offer, you will be able to clean reinstall Windows 10 on the same device during and after the free upgrade offer period without having to purchase Windows 10 or having to go back to the prior version of Windows that you upgraded from.
Guest LilBambi
Adam said there would also be downloadable ISOs available. Is that now or later?
Corrine
I believe that the ISOs will be later but don't know for certain.
Guest LilBambi
I signed up for the Insider Preview and downloaded the ISO (thanks Aryeh!), and installed it as a new install in a virtual machine in Virtual Box on the Macbook Air (new to me). Works well. I was really surprised just how barebones it is. Will have to install some games on it LOL! I just searched on Google for Insider Preview ISO to see if it is coming up yet and it is: http://windows.micro...ows/preview-iso Edited June 23, 2015 by LilBambi
alphaomega
If you need to install or reinstall Windows 10, you can use the tools on this page to create your own installation media using either a USB flash drive or a DVD. https://www.microsof...nload/windows10
Jeber
Just a confirmation: I upgraded my desktop (the one I use these days is a hand-me-down corporate Dell Optiplex 780, very average specs) to Windows 10 on the 30th. Used it for a week, had some issues and decided to downgrade back to 7. The downgrade took forever (in geek terms, actually about 1.5 hours) and I was informed I could upgrade again if I wanted later. I outlined my adventure here.
zlim
I too read an article today outlining how to downgrade and it ended with you can choose to upgrade again later. http://www.pcworld.c...ows-7-or-8.html Edited August 7, 2015 by zlim
