The conference will be held during the first week of March and Valve has issued a statement that they will be unveiling new hardware at the event. The developer will be showing new living room hardware and an updated Steam Controller. They will also have their virtual reality hardware—dubbed SteamVR—available for preview by appointment only. When Valve introduced the Steam Machine in late 2013 it was clear they were making a play to compete in the console gaming market. These machines are Linux-based small form factor PCs tuned for gaming. Coupled with a console-like controller and Steam’s big picture view you have, in theory, a device suited to sit in your living room connected to your television.
