How do I get rid of this/ unwanted architecture

dpkg: configuration error: /etc/dpkg/dpkg.cfg.d/architectures:1: unknown option 'foreign-architecture

 

 

then there is :- Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (2)

 

I know I did this a long time ago trying to install Skype. Now I can not undo it

I've had a look at that . Thank you.

I am running Debian 6 squeeze on this box.

 

The easiest way to show you ,would be to take and post a snapshot. How is that done .

 

I have tried snapshots many times but if it happens at all I can-not for the life of me find them .

I use scrot..The syntax is simple.

 

scrot to take a screenshot

scrot -s to select a window to take a shot of

scrot -d 2 to wait two seconds before taking shot

....

 

 

And it all works from the Run menu.

solution to unwanted architecture.

 

Here goes :- I used the GUI to work my way down to the offending files there were two in root /etc/dpkg/dpkg.cfg.d-----Then I opened a terminal and su /root. Once there I typed in ...rm.... Then just dragged the files over from the GUI and pressed enter..

I was able to check all gone by running symantic. Did a bit of updating and at long last got a clean exit..

 

Probably not the cleanest way to do it .. But it worked all good .
