I can hear the music, but I see a black box where the little applet is. I am using Firefox 9.0.1. I even tried it with Konquerer and still get the black box. Test your Flash --> https://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ Test your Java --> https://www.java.com/en/download/testjava.jsp Anyway, my FF uses Mplayer to play that audio on that site. Maybe you don't have the mplayer plugin on your FF? And why is Mepis using such an old version of Firefox? Oh, and make sure your adblocking, if you have any, isn't blocking that graphic. You can search for it in your GUI package manager. I don't remember if Mepis uses Synaptic or some equivalent. Therefore I reckon it's doing what it should, just plays in the background. They should really update the page to use the new HTML5 <audio> tag. It works fine whenever I've seen it, but is not supported in older browsers. They even have an IE5-specific hack for CSS on the page. IE5, LOL! Also I think you have too many plugins. Most of them do the same thing, so just one would suffice for media. The audio would not play for me BTW. I got the "missing plugin" message but FF could not automatically find one. It's just the embedded mp3 player plugin on my FF, which happens to be mplayer: If you can hear the audio, Jerry, but aren't seeing the graphic, my guess would be a blocking app somewhere. I looked at the plugins and I had all and more on mepis. I just downloaded Linux Mint 13 and it still doesn't work. I guess it is because of the site's old setup like sunrat said. I think Eric's screenshot shows the default mplayer plugin control. As Jerry has so many plugins installed, it's hard to guess which player is actually playing the track, which is why I suggested he has too many plugins (and any one of them will play almost any media found on the net). IIRC, when I had the Kaffeine plugin installed, it used to open any media in a new window. The site works either one of these old versions of firefox. I installed linux mint 9 on virtualbox and now I am set to go. Actually I checked firefox for plugins on these old versions of firefox and they had itunes application detector installed. Linux mint 9 uses firefox 3... and is the only linux version that the player will work on that site. I tried Linux Mint 13 live cd, and the player does not work, and that is the reason for this topic, how to get the player to work. I still believe that the only reason you don't see the player in Linux Mint 13 is because the player is not installed; not the plugin, but the application itself. You can have an mplayer plugin installed in FF, but if you don't have the application Mplayer installed w/ necessary codecs in Mint, then the plugin has nothing to do. You'll probably also need to go to Firefox Preferences --> Applications and see what app/plugin you have set to play mp3s on your Linux Mint system. I looked for quicktime plugin and it said it was not available for my version of firefox. I found embedded objects 2.9 in the add-ons, now it works.
