choco
Hi,I have a 60 GB hard drive installed to a Firewire case. For some reason, Win2k (SP4) loses it. Then I get the message below;Windows was unable to save all the data for the file\Device\HarddiskVolume10\$Mft. The data has been lost. This error may be caused by a failure of your computer hardware or network connection. Please try to save this file elsewhere. Why do I keep losing the Firewire connection?I just removed the drive by using the shutdown option in the systray. I then pulled the cable and reinserted. The drive came back. While I was observing My Computer, it was displayed, then the above message reappeared and I watch the drive letter disappear from My Computer.Does the case have problem or is it Windows?Warm Regards,Lou~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ed_P
I would suspect the connecting cable first, then the hard drive itself, then the case. I doubt it's Windows.
