Greetings to all at SNL and Happy New Year.
I put some of the $$ I got for Christmas to work and replaced the Acer TN monitor that I had on my linux box. The Acer had particularly bad vertical view angles and no matter where I sat the colors were really washed out.
Amazon had a good deal on a BenQ so I picked one up. It's a VA panel with much improved view angles and the contrast is fantastic. I'm sure the grandkids will love playing Star Wars Lego now. They were always fighting over the upstairs dektop which has an IPS monitor.

"Do you begin to see, then, what kind of world we are creating? It is the exact opposite of the stupid hedonistic Utopias that the old reformers imagined. A world of fear and treachery and torment, a world of trampling and being trampled upon, a world which will grow not less but more merciless as it refines itself. Progress in our world will be progress toward more pain." -George Orwell, 1984
