DarkSerge
Hello everyone! You might remember me from a series of posts a few months back about trying to get my old, slowly dying system fixed up using Xubuntu Linux to keep it alive until I can replace it. The old system held in there pretty good. One of the hard drives died, but luckily Xubuntu was not installed on that drive. I've finally got a new system up and running! It's not currently running Linux although I may dual-boot in the future (Kubuntu probably) once I've got everything on here just the way I want it. I was going to go with a custom built system from a local business, but the guy there managed to find a decent built system with what I wanted. (I could have done that myself, but I decided I wanted to support local business.) I know this isn't necessarily a Linux topic, so I apologize if an admin is unhappy with me, however this is where I always posted to fix my old system that ran Xubuntu so I thought I'd announce my new system here since many users in this topic are the ones who always helped me with my issues.

DarkSerge
I'm glad to be on this new system. Everything's so smooth and nice looking now. Thinking about what to do with the old system. It might still be usable in its retirement. No important data will be on it so if it dies completely it's not a big loss. I even have a couple extra hard drives I don't have a use for. It can still boot and is functional so maybe something just to try out a different Linux distro and browse the web.
Guest LilBambi
Congrats on the new system. Of course it is not a Linux topic so I moved it to The Restaurant but left a link here to get there from BATL. Congrats again!
DarkSerge
Congrats on the new system. Of course it is not a Linux topic so I moved it to The Restaurant but left a link here to get there from BATL. Congrats again! Thank you for the generous topic move and link. I'll probably be back someday in the Linux forums. I still don't know what to do with the old system; it may be retired but I might still get some basic function from it. Plus there's always the possibility of dual-booting this new system someday.
