Yes, that was the joke ... everyone loses arguments with kitties. Wasn't sure which would be better so went with the name we were all using here.

Lies, it is all Lies. Your cat is trying to deceive you for his evil plans.

That's not true. I believe Clutter's cat really does like me. I'm kinda' gullible, though. I believe Google does no evil, too. ;)

There is a reason Kzin are cats.
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. ~C. S. Lewis

Cats are not devious, they are just full of sleuth, sloth and independence! And in the Root Cat's case, loved playing with water in the kitchen sink and tub (recently found out from Josh that Anubis likes that too!), and stole shiny things from my Jim's tool bag and then would hide them under the couch. ;) He would also go in 20 minute stints between being full of sleuth, sloth, independent and downright crazy.

Now by crazy, I mean acting like he just sniffed catnip and he didn't have any at that time. ;)
