Flash Newsletter: Mandrakelinux Distribution Roadmap ClarificationsMandrakesoft has announced a new one year release cycle for its nextdistributions. The press release is available at the following URL:http://www.mandrakesoft.com/company/press/...r/products/2546Here are some clarifications for Club members and the rest of us.Limited Edition release* Club Members will have prior access to the Limited Edition indeed,  before all other users, beginning of April* There will be a free download available for CDs and DVD, four weeks  after the Club release, 3 CDs, one DVD as usual* Security updates will be provided. The exact period remains to be  defined, we will let you know as soon as possible.New release cycle* There will be Club releases several times a year, plus one annual  Official release. Your input will be highly valuable for designing  the exact form of these Club releases. You dear Club Members can  help us innovate!* There will be available downloads of the CDs and DVD, in  correspondence with the annual cycle. The only change actually  relates to the Official release cycle and to the name scheme:  Official distros, like the Château Lafleur Petrus, will have the  name of the year. All other production cycles - Cooker, Download,  Community - will remain roughly unchanged.* The release following the Limited Edition will go out around October  2005 (2006 edition)* All along the year, Club members will have access to the Club  releases ISOs they're entitled to, through BitTorrent or HTTP.
