telecomguy9
I have the CPU at the following link in one of my PC's. What I can't figure out is its normal operating temp as well as its high and low temps. Can someone please help me figure this out?http://processorfinder.intel.com/Details.aspx?sSpec=SL7PM#
Peachy
The specs from that page only indicate the maximum temperature the processor should be running at before it experiences a shutdown. From my experience with that generation of processor I've seen normal idle temperatures in the mid-50s to low 60s and 65 to 67 degrees for full throttle. telecomguy9
Thanks for the info, Peachy. I was thinking the same thing. The interesting thing is that this CPU came only with a complete copper heatsink - no fan at all - and I find it hard to believe that it is sufficient for the processor. Weird. b2cm
Use a power supply unit with a exhaust fan underneath near the heatsink.
telecomguy9
I might just replace the heatsink with a full copper that has a fan, too. Thanks for your idea, tho.
telecomguy9
Definitely. I have some already.
goretsky
Hello,Are there mounting points on your current copper heat sink for your Intel Pentium 4 3.0E GHZ SL7PM processor? If so, then all you may need to do is attach an existing fan to it, and then plug it into the CPU FAN header pins on the motherboard.Regards,Aryeh Goretsky
telecomguy9
I thought about that as well, but there aren't mounting points on it. Thanks for the suggestion, though.
