i've been following some of the bugzilla trackings and its interesting. Mozilla.org wants the most stable version its ever made with 1.4 final. they've fixed over 57 bugs since RC1 and they've been stuck on 3 show-stopper bugs before RC2 is out. something about image cache leaking, and about Linux version using different gcc compiler due to licensing issues.hopefully it will be out by end of week, with final one in couple weeks time. i've been using 1.4 RC1 and its extremely stable (best so far) and a couple of bugs i found (like cancel doesnt work when it asks to download japanese font or some other language) have all been already fixed in RC2.just my thoughts for all you mozilla users. i try phoenix once a while but its a bit too buggy at this pre alpha beta stage to be my primary browser :) make sure to grab mozilla 1.4 when it's finally out. it's gonna be a beauty. 1.5 will begin merging phoenix code with mozilla and that should be an interesting development cycle to follow.

Sieb, Mozilla Mail will be included in the browser suite at least until they get Thunderbird up and running in a "near-release" version... There are too many people using MozillaMail right now to drop it until they have a qualified replacement...The nice thing is that the transition from MozillaMail to T-bird will be an easy one! (whenever they get there)

k, Mozilla 1.4 RC2 is out. 1.4 Final should be another week or 2 at most.get it at Mozillap.s. got a Lockergnome pop up from my Trillian about this release  sweeeeetsome of the nice new features in 1.4: (M$ IE is so far behind in innovation its pathetic)- "Launch file" after downloading has been enabled for .exe files- Image blocking/disabling is now more flexible and users can "view image" to see blocked or not loaded images.- Mozilla's bookmarks have been overhauled. Bookmarks now include a root level folder, the ability to have two differently named bookmarks pointing at the same location, site icons in the Bookmark Manager and Bookmarks Sidebar, and separators now have support for labels.- Pop-up blocking has been streamlined to improve usability- Users can now specify "blank page," "home page," or "Last page visited" for each of first window, new window and new tab.- Mozilla on Windows now has support for NTLM authentication. This enables Mozilla to talk to MS web and proxy servers that are configured to use "windows integrated security"- Mozilla 1.4 contains thousands of additional bugfixes, including changes to improve performance, stability, web site compatability, standards support, and usability.

Well RC2 is out, but I've found it won't even run on my machine at work (Windows 2000 Pro SP2). I even went through the trouble of uninstalling the previous version first (RC1). Oh well -- Firebird for me, then.

try deleting the mozilla folder and then re-install.  it seems to have worked for some folks with your problem.
That does indeed do the trick. I should habe known better than to assume an automated uninstall would be sufficient. Thanks for the tip.
