Guest LilBambi
Would probably help a little bit if we knew email program (as well as the version) that you are using.
councillor
I use IE6 (w2k) and the folks on the receiving end have IE6.....and don't understand this one. I've looked closely at options and have drawn a bland.

I've looked closely at options and have drawn a bland.Did you try sending an email to yourself with a picture and see if it, the picture, comes through ok? This will help narrow down whether the problem is on your end or not.
Guest ThunderRiver
Just attach picstures. Don't just insert itIn OE, for example, it only remembers the link on the physical hard drive.. so obviously when it gets to another person's computer, OE will wonder "Where is teh file that has the pic?"..since it doesn't find any, it shows big XMake sure you send pic as attachment. If you really want to insert a link. Upload the pic to some web server..and link the pic to that server.. it will work as well.. more work..but it is up to you
zox
If you are using Outlook Express, when you click on "Attach" button and dialog box pops up so you can select your picture, make sure that "Make shortcut to this file" checkbox is UNchecked. That checkbox is located on lower left corner of dialog box.I hope this will help you. Montana
(When I forward these E Mails they arrive without the picture, I only see a box with an X.)My husband has this problem on occasion, don't recall why, but he does receive a lot of AOL crap...pix are usually buried 10 deep. My stock answer is to tell him not to forward the original email but instead to save the picture/attachment to his own hard drive then create a new email and insert or attach the picture then send. imranj
Yeah as others have said do attach the pic seperately, usually under forwarded mails if u doesnt have the pic's embeded in it, so thats why u see a x instead of the pic, yeah thunderbirds idea is also good, but u need a seperate server for it.... councillor
I need to clear the problem up abit. (Example)!!!I'm composing a e-mail and insert a picture and looks good I send the mail and it's received like this;In the e-mail body, there's only the blank box with a X in it..."How-Ever, the picture is attached as attachment", they then have to open it in there graphics viewer to see it...I also receive mail from others like that at times.......I wonder why only some e-mail's.? My $%&*(*&()+ SPAM mail seem to ALWAYS get thru ok...
