Once in advanced it will allow you to choose only the features you want to install, in your case Frontpage.
Guest ThunderRiver
Like Strayder said, you should be able to install FrontPage 2000. Just make sure you do NOT accidentally install Word 2000 or stuff like that to overwrite the newest one.
Arena2045
Hello jaco,Stryder adn ThunderRiver are correct, but I've had some bad experiences trying to install previous Office programs once the latest version has been installed. Now I don't know if this will affect your situation but this is what I have encountered.=====HAD Office 2000 Installed with MS PhotoDraw 2000.Removed entire Office 2000, then installed Office XP.Reinstalled just MS PhotoDraw 2000, then all other Office XP programs that utilize the Clip Art Gallery said they were not installed and that I needed to reinstall them.So I had to then reinstall Office XP again over the current install.Once that was done all Office programs worked normally.=====A similar problem also occurred when I tried installing a different way:First installed MS PhotoDraw 2000Then installed Office XPMS Photo Draw said that it wasn't installed and needed to be reinstalled.Reinstalled PhotoDraw and then each Office XP program that used the Clip Art Gallery said it wasn't installed...Then reinstalled Office XP.After all that, everything works. What a head ache!=====Be careful when you try to install an older Office program. You may run into a conflict, and on the other hand it might install just fine! Scot
Folks, my experiences differ, but are closer to Arena's. Here's my school-of-hard-knocks advice:You can't install FrontPage from Office Premium over Academic Office. Office wants the EXACT type of Office you installed from when you make changes to its installation. (You don't need the exact same CD; you just need the same type.) Now, I never install FrontPage (I'm NOT a big fan), but if it's part of the integrated intall of other apps in Office, I don't think this is going to work.If you have Windows XP, I think you and your daughter should create different Windows logons and share your computer, but with different desktops and program installations. If you don't have this option, then I think you have to decide on one version of Office or the other.I'm beggin' to be proved wrong on this one! I hope I'm wrong, because there's probably a good tip in it if I am. -- Scot
muckshifter
Pop your Office 2000 CD in the drive, it will auto-run … choose “Custom†install. You’ll see the list of all the components of office.Left click and click on the red x (do not run on this computer) … for all except FrontPage. This should install only FP
jaco
g'day all, well i got it to work. i now have frontpage 2000 and office xp working together.it gave me a few headaches. in the end i removed all office installs;then installed office 2000 premium, then installed office xp: it asks you want you want to keep in your old installation, so i just ticked frontpage.then i couldnt use my office outlook email, it said [ unable to open your default email folders, the .dll file for the information service could not be found. MAPI was unable to load the information service PSTPRX.DLL.]found out on the microsoft support page all i had to do was create a new profile in office outlook, that fixed the problem. thanks all for your help.jacoThread merged with original thread.
