abarbarian
http://desktoplinuxreviews.com/debian-reviews/kwheezy-1-2/ Debian has not always had a good reputation when it comes to being welcoming to new Linux users. Kwheezy is a Debian-based distribution that aims to change that by making Debian easier to install, and by offering the slick KDE desktop environment. Kwheezy is a blend of Debian 7.1 (Wheezy) and KDE 4.8.4. Download, http://www.kwheezy.com/en/downloads/ Might be a gentle way for a beginner to start with Debian. Quite a nice article though a bit dated. The os it seems has matured a tad. Shame the guy uses the dreaded "N" word. He must be one of The Knights of Ni.
saturnian
I took a look at the live session of Kwheezy 1.0.1, back in August -- used Unetbootin to put it on a flash drive. Huge download, and it looks like the latest release is even bigger. I thought Kwheezy looked quite good. I never installed it, though -- I've already got Wheezy installations on three different computers, and one of them is the KDE spin. Also, Kwheezy ships with far too much stuff for my tastes. But I think that many people will appreciate having this distro out there, and I hope it catches on and manages to stick around for awhile. I wonder if there'll be a name change when Jessie becomes the next Debian Stable. Kjessie?
abarbarian
Unfortunate choice of name "jessie" oooop norf at this side of the pond means, screaming great jessie Australian slang, imported from Scotland, for a man who although straight behaves in a whiny, complaining and non-masculine manner. What's wrong with you, you screaming great jessie? Get on that roof and clean out the gutters. pussy wimp fag feeb weakling http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=screaming%20great%20jessie
saturnian
Oh. I thought "Wheezy" wasn't such a great name for a release; of course, they pick names from the Toy Story characters, for whatever reason. https://wiki.debian.org/DebianReleases

I noticed Kwheezy recommends 30GB for install partition. Wow, my siduction KDE install only takes 7GB after 1 1/2 years and lots of installed stuff. Ass for Jessie as a name for the next release, at least it's more friendly than Sid, the kid who breaks all the toys in toy Story.
