zox
[zox@cookie zox]$ traceroute www.rogers.comtraceroute to www.rogers.com (142.146.40.100), 30 hops max, 38 byte packets 1 192.168.0.2 (192.168.0.2) 1.293 ms 1.159 ms 1.457 ms 2 * * * 3 * * * 4 * * *....My question is how to get hops to show instead of stars.I read a bit about traceroute and it says that stars means that servers are not setup properly.I tried also couple of switches but same result. When I was using tracert on Windows I could see all hops without problems.I wonder is it me or something Linux specific, thanks? Peachy
My guess is that your firewall is set up to drop traceroute packets.
