the website would be a lot easier to read without a black background or at least not blue links on a black background. Much of the material there I use but other info was not easily read.

Keith, that one's a great site with real info. And really to the point. And mur_phy, how come you don't know how to change the color of webpage according to your taste? Atleast copy paste the matter in Wordpad and read it. It's something you don't wanna miss.

Hi KeithYour site contains important information for families and users who can't (or won't) join the Windows Upgrade treadmill. Thank you. But I do have to agree with mur_phy. The link colors made my eyes water. There some other options for defrag besides shutting down all programs, or running in safe mode... let me know if you are interested.

well, I guess that is because no one has ever come up with that idea to me before and I don't know how but am willing to learn. Again, I'd think it would be better for the web page creator to do that in the first place.ben--by all means inform us of other options for doing defrag. I have tried various methods and options and am willing to learn about more. I don't do Scan Disk and Defrag too frequently. Takes too long and not often was much if anything accomplished. Generally keep things pretty clean on a weekly basis.

Thanks to all for their comments re. the write-up I’ve been going at for a few days. Imo, it gets a bit better every time I nitpick at it… pardon the typos—they never seem to go away totally, and other places where I messed up. Thanks again for the input. It's all here, for those who don't know what I'm talking about. -Gord (Keith). Also, sorry for the confusion over names.Gord's Recipe For A Faster, Better Behaved Windows 98
