Don't have either one myself, but here are some things you might like to check out:Ratings:http://pcworld.pricegrabber.com/rating_get...01858a78cf0f936No lockups on Intel Chip:http://www.cheapgeek.net/reviews/ati_radeo...n7500_pg3.shtmlUpgrading to DirectX 9.0a - lockups disappear with an ATI card:http://www.rageunderground.com/Hope one of these will give a clue to the lockups.

 I'd go to AMD and get the latest AGP drivers, VIA for the latest 4 in 1 and also check out the temperature, with a newer card the computer may be overheating.Joy

did your friend's card work when you got it? I'd be worried about that first of all... second... make sure the AGP card is seated correctly in its slot. Is your Radeon 7000 the 32mb or the 64mb? if it's the 64, I'd see no reason to mess with upgrading from the 7000 (64mb) to the 7500 (64mb)... granted the processor is a bit faster, but the performance shouldn't be that different... just a thought anyway... please give us more info/updates as to your progress!!

Flakey sometimes? ATI would be great if they knew how to make drivers, I can't believe they have that problem, cause they could give nvidia a good run if they just could produce good drivers.

Concur about ATI drivers. I've stopped purchasing ATI cards altogether. I just grew tired of the hassles. We have fewer and fewer choices in this category it seems.-- Scot

I had problem are problem with ATI cards, usually conflict with motherboard AGP drivers, and video drivers. I've had to replace and return so many Mach series and Rage series cards, and haven't touched a single Radeon card for the simple reason that I think they are crummy video cards. Mind you ATI isn't alone in this, my Matrox G400 would give me many random blue screen of deaths too.I know it doesnt help your situation with the Radeon, but perhaps you should consider any GeForce 3 or GeForce 4 card instead. These cards are rock solid, the Detonator drivers are close to perfect, and all my games just fly on these cards.
