Yup. Looks that way. I won't mind a bit if Frontier offers cheaper services, but what are the chances of that?

...can't be any worse than Verizon was!

Oddly enough, I've never had any serious Verizon complaints; other than the fact that I think their services and the ways they are sold (in packages and such) are overpriced.

You think they are overpriced? You should talk to Fran, I think she gets 40gb for like $200 a month.

Yup. The providers pass along the costs to cater to folks off the beaten path, like Fran. If you want cheaper Internet, you need to live in those big, filthy, crowded cities.

Well cellular internet would cost that much even if you live in the city. I only get 3gb at 4G(unlimited after that at 3G speeds) on my phone plan and it costs about $50

From DSLReports:

Frontier: We Won't Be Expanding U-Verse Acquisitions

by Karl Bode 07:56AM Tuesday Feb 24 2015

Earlier this month Frontier Communications announced it would be acquiring all of Verizon's fixed-line assets in California, Florida and Texas in a deal worth $10.5 billion. Before that, Frontier acquired all of AT&T's fixed-line assets in Connecticut in a deal worth $2 billion. If you're a former AT&T or Verizon customer in either of those territories hoping for next-gen upgrades, you may not want to hold your breath.

...that actually improving the customer service or infrastructure in those markets will prove to be a difficult task.

Oh, joy.

Whoopee !!! The lords of the oirish tinternet hath verily decreed that 4G will be bestowed upon us next June . @ no extra charge ..

SHEESH!!! It wont make a bloind bit of difference as most tech savvy users already have boosters that take the ISP choke off anyway. lol

Where is the spell checker ???

They sold here in Oregon a few years back and I haven't noticed any changes. It's still the same DSL that replaced dial up. It is now $75.66 a month for the most basic no frills service. In latest speed test a few minutes ago it is download 2.89 Mbps and upload 0.76 Mbps.

It makes no sense that using an old phone line DSL connection costs as much as it does. What would make sense is DSL as a free add-on with any phone line.

Wow that is a lot for a home phone and 3M dsl. My bill is $120 but that includes a home phone, cable and a 122/20 internet connection.
