If you’re among the long-term Grooveshark users still mourning that controversial streaming service’s demise—along with the elaborate playlists you’d stored with it—you’ll be happy to hear about StreamSquid. This new streaming-music service is just as free as Grooveshark, which was recently sued out of existence. The difference is that StreamSquid’s creators maintain its service is perfectly legal because all the music comes from legitimate third-party sources such as SoundCloud and YouTube

Um, that has nothing to do with it. It's simply a webpage on the desktop and apps on ios, android and windows phone... There is a desktop client for all OSs (Windows, Mac and Linux): https://play.google....en?u=0#/manager

Available in Linux repos but also on their webpage.

Ah ha at StreamSquid I can listen to anything without signing in. Obviously I can not save playlists but who needs playlists. I just search for a group or artist and choose the tracks I like or play them all.Helps to keep music fresh for me. :teehee:
