I'm a Palm person myself, (like the simplicity of it, and don't want another Microshaft Product). My new one is giving me fits, so thought I'd see what other people use.

I use the Handy Dandy Spiral Memo Pad......complete with blue lines up and down every page. All for the amazing low, low price of 4 for a dollar at Staples, on sale. Got 20 of them. 100 pages per pad. Should keep me going for the next year or two. :) :)

Cheap? Yes. Easy? Probably. But fun? doubtful. :) And I'm sure the inner geek in you is dying for a new toy :DHow are you supposed to play games on your spiral pad? (tic tac toe doesn't count  )

I have to complain as I can't find my intended PDA in your list, Sharp Zaurus.Zaurus does not run neither Palm OS, nor Windows OS but Linux. There is also Open source replacement for Sharp system and is based on newer linux kernel with QTopia (QT libraries from KDE for PDA's).I am intending to purchase this PDA so if there is anyone with experience with these, speak up

Compaq iPaq 36?? PocketPC 2003 - I LOVE IT!Plusses: (Boy! That doesn't look like a word?!)...Sync's my Outlook files....I keep all my customer data in it....It is linked wirelessly to my network....I have the Pocket CoPilot software and Sleeve for it - it hangs on my dash and tells me (voice) where to turn - (anywhere in the USA), and if I miss a turn, it determines a new route and tells me where to go....I keep voice notes on it when on the road for later transcribing....I have different memory cards for different applications - CoPilot has a 128MB card, my office apps have 64MB card, and games are on a 32MB card....It works as an alarm clock when on the road....It gives me all my up-to-date outlook reminders....It even plays music to me when I'm feeling all warm and fuzzy!...The display is excellent. ...This thing, if it weren't for typing (I have a folding keyboard for it) ease, could almost replace my laptop!...Early on, the synchronizing was troublesome, but it has been ironed out.Minuses:...Cost. I probably have 900 or a grand into it with the initial cost being $500, the GPS being $300, memory cards, and such.I'd buy another one...d|:^)Dick

Handspring! Bought one from their web site as a refurbished for $100 under retail. It had a bad connection for the part that allows recharging (sorry the brain is fried and I can't think of what it is called). They replaced it with a brand new Handspring. ;) Flavor: VisorPros: Nice color screen. Syncs nicely with my computer. I keep all my addresses, contacts, calendar, email, IP addresses, etc., in it. Waiting for appointments I can play a game of snood or whatever my game of the day is. Great for passing time on long car rides (last weekend) or whenever I am stuck somewhere.Don't use it as a phone - that is too much in one gadget. Nor do I hook up to the Internet with it or my phone even though I can. Con: Bought a secondary market converter to take my camera disk. Had fine print in back of manual saying it would use anysize scandisk but 20MB. Guess which I tried first? Fried it. They gave me my money back. Never tried that again. :( How many times have I dropped it? Not as often as my cell phone. ;) How many times have I gone crazy trying to find someone's unlisted number, etc. on the Internet before remembering I had it in my Hand all along? Too many. :D I have had it almost two years now and don't know how I waited so long. ;)

Great poll idea!I voted for Palms, PocketPCs. But I use my Pocket PC more. I have them both.I actually like Tablet PCs the best of all. No, not the same thing, but a better form factor IMO.-- Scot

Okay... now that I actually have TIME to post, I'll elaborate more on my setup.I've had a Palm m125 for about 6 months, and I love it! I didn't like having to put batteries in it though... I was probably replacing the batteries every 2-3 weeks (more when I first got it). I ended up getting my dad into the world of Palm and he ended up buying to Palms (m500 and m505). He bought the m500 before he realized he could get a color Palm for not much more. (He's an ebay shopper). I ended up buying the m500 from him and am quickly falling in love with it. I had some HotSync issues with it and Windows XP (See This Thread), but now I've got it up and running, and think I'm really going to LOVE the rechargeable battery.I much prefer the PalmOS versus the PPC interface. The last thing I need are more Microsoft Programs... I'm already moving away from them on my PC, so why would I want another device that uses them? I can sync my mail (Thanks Eudora!) and all my other info with Outlook... I don't need Outlook on the Palm... Palm allows for much more customization and selection of programs... gives me the flexibility to use what I like!

Two years ago, I purchased a Handspring Visor. It's now another extremity. Although I use it only for PIM, games and my shopping list (invaluable), it would be hard to give up. It has been dropped many times and keeps on going. And the best part...<almost scared to put this> it has never crashed. Cannot say the same for MS. When it becomes necessary to replace, I'm looking at the new Palm. Oh, btw, I like having a couple of books on it, a dictionary, and the PDR. How did I ever live without my Visor??

A couple of years ago a friend gave me her old Palm III and I've been using it ever since. It totally replaced my leather-bound appointment/address book. Lately I've been cruising the PDA counter at Best Buy and checking out the new color PDAs with all those nifty features and will probably upgrade to something with a color screen. But my old Palm III will live on. I'm giving it to my girlfriend.

Hi all, I bought a Handspring Visor Platinum for half the price from a bank offering and am very happy with it. Added an expansion slot to (the MemPlug) so that I can store more programs in the 32MB SD card. I've got only 2 MB+ and 1 MB+ (internal and expansion respectively). Have been using it to keep track of my daily expenses, reading e-books and e-newsletters, which I convert to the PalmReader format (Scot's Newsletter is one of them, prefer reading them on the PDA), and games, games, games and more games ;)I've been dying for a new Palm device and my next one will be a colour for sure.Cheers!

I bought a Palm IIIxe almost 3 years ago. I'm still using it and I love it! Unlike my &%^$#!! computer, it never crashes. And though I use it all the time, every day, it runs for about 11-12 weeks on two AAA batteries. I use it for my calendar, my address book, my medical records, my list of movies I've seen (so I don't rent them again from Blockbuster) and movies I want to see, my list of CDs, wine, my shopping list, Vindigo, Zagat, and a bunch of other stuff. One of the many reasons I like it better than a paper calendar is that even if I lose it or it's stolen, I still have everything backed up on my computer. I once lost my paper calendar--what a disaster!!Cybernut
