Mozilla sent Firefox Version 125.1 to the release channel. Firefox ESR was updated to Version 115.9.1. Sort of true. Quite a lot of things stay pretty much the same but a lot of stuff changes out of all recognition too. I am still looking for an answer to my query though.

The problem with taking notes on archlinux is that things change so fast that the notes are quickly outdated

I see two possibilities. One, as #RAYMAC46 posted, enable "Legacy boot". The other is weird. Some times you have to uncheck the USB boot option, save the change, reboot to BIOS again and recheck USB. I've also seen this when installing onboard SSD drives. Have to uncheck and then recheck.

A motherboard for 8th Gen i5 - have you updated the BIOS since you got it?

I do have a TP-Link USB micro-adapter in it now. However it is really slow. It would be better to have a PCI card I think.

Just to finish off this thread. The OP prefers android to linux. He is hoping to sell the inherited Linx 8 tablet running Windows. Someone is giving him an old Samsung Galaxy Tab A6 (2016) which will suit his needs. Since my Galaxy Tab Pro purchased in 2016 is still going strong, I'm sure he'll be happy with the Tab A6. It is probably newer than my device.
